Seeks Support for Tinubu and APC Candidates
By Hon. Aderemi D. Ogundokun
The Next Level Progressive Movement on Sunday, October 11, 2026, launched its nationwide women’s sensitisation and outreach campaign in Kano State, with a call for support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The campaign, led by the organisation’s National Women Leader, Hajia Maimuna Bello, was designed to introduce the movement to grassroots communities and mobilise women to participate actively in the political process.
According to the organisers, the event attracted more than 300 women from different backgrounds, providing an opportunity to engage directly with residents and explain the movement’s objectives and vision.
Speaking at the event, Hajia Maimuna Bello described the initiative as a personal commitment to women’s empowerment and greater female participation in democratic activities.
She emphasised the importance of reaching women at the grassroots level and building networks capable of sustaining the movement’s nationwide outreach.
The organisers said the participating women expressed support for the current administration and pledged to mobilise votes for Tinubu and Shettima, alongside other APC candidates, in the January 2027 elections.
However, the pledge represents the position expressed by participants at the event and does not establish the voting intentions of women across Kano State as a whole.
KANO MARKS THE START OF A NATIONWIDE CAMPAIGN
The movement said Kano State would serve as the starting point for a nationwide sensitisation campaign planned to cover all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The initiative is expected to focus on grassroots engagement, women’s political participation and the mobilisation of support for APC candidates ahead of the elections.
Before the Kano outreach, Hajia Maimuna Bello reportedly held consultations with the Remi Tinubu Support Group as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and develop grassroots networks for the campaign.
The organisers described the engagement as an important step towards expanding the movement’s reach beyond Kano State.
As political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, the movement’s nationwide campaign will be closely watched as it seeks to build support among women and other grassroots constituencies.
